Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are delighted to welcome you all to the XI ASEICA meeting in the beautiful city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (www.grancanaria.com). We hope you will find the time to join us and participate in our conference on translational oncology.
The main goals of the XI ASEICA meeting will be to maintain a high scientific level of the topics for discussion by increasing relationships with other scientific societies in Spain involved in cancer research. Our aim is to create a faster and more efficient transition of knowledge from the basic science to clinical applications. These main proposals will be directed especially toward our young researchers.
For these reasons, our meeting offers an optimal environment for open discussion and relaxed communication among participants and expert speakers. Young researchers will have the opportunity to participate very actively in the meeting through special sessions designed for increased scientific interrelation. English will be the official language of the scientific sessions, favouring the active participation in the meeting of invited speakers and regular participants from other countries. No simultaneous translation will be provided. The scientific programme includes all aspects of current molecular biology, cell biology and genetics with the aim of finding faster and more efficient ways of transferring basic research into effective targeted therapies.
We are very grateful to all of those who have contributed their time and effort in both the organisation of this meeting and with their participation. We hope that our city and the  magnificent congress venue ‘Auditorio Alfredo Kraus’ (www.auditorio-alfredokraus.com) located on the sea border on the famous ‘Playa de Las Canteras’ will make you feel at home and really enjoy your stay with us.
